Many owners of electric vehicles worry about how effective their battery will be in very cold weather. Now, a new battery chemistry may have solved that problem. U.S. Department of Energy Argonne National Laboratory scientists have developed a new and safer electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries that works as well in sub-zero conditions as it does at room temperature.
