At Argonne’s 2022 Earth Day celebration, the Lab recognized the efforts of CELS Data Center Manager, Bill Lucnik, for making Argonne a greener place by naming him one of this year’s Sustainability Champions.
Bill was recognized for his efforts to adhere to the three Rs of sustainability. Whenever older systems are retired from the Data Center, Bill has sought every opportunity to retain anything that could be reused outright, and identified items that were ideal for recycling, thus overall reducing the Lab’s consumption of new materials.
Bill has been a regular proponent of efficiencies and reducing waste which is one of the true characteristics of being a Sustainability Champion.
