Development of High-Energy Density Film Capacitors and Nanocarbon-Enhanced Metal Conductors for Renewable Energy Applications

AMD Seminar Series

Abstract: Renewable energy (RE) sources are becoming increasingly important in meeting our energy needs and to achieve a net zero CO2emission. In the US, RE currently accounts for ≈11% of the total energy production, or ≈17% of the electric power production. High-energy density film capacitors and nanocarbon-enhanced metal conductors play an essential role in electric energy generation, transportation, storage, and utilization. This talk will discuss progress related to fabrication and characterization of high-energy density film capacitors and nanocarbon-enhanced copper conductors.
