High-Order Compact WENO for Discontinuous Galerkin

LANS Seminar

Abstract: In this talk, we discuss a proposed approach to dealing with discontinuities in compressible flows. We briefly outline the motivation behind employing high-order discontinuous Galerkin (DG) methodology, particularly our interests in using simplices, and the existing difficulties in predicting aerothermodynamic environment of hypersonic vehicles with unstructured schemes. We then present a proposed compact WENO-DG approach and demonstrate its capabilities on canonical cases. Additionally, we will discuss briefly a code design for a general high-order DG solver that is under development.

This seminar will be streamed.
