Modeling the Milky Way in the Exascale Era: Challenges and Opportunities

CELS Seminar

Abstract: I provide an overview of the current state of the art in cosmological simulations of galaxy formation, focusing on the largest and most physically accurate simulations, and what they can tell us about galaxy formation and evolution. I will also critically examine the future of galaxy formation simulations in the era of 100+ petaflop and exaflop architectures, including missing physics, numerical challenges, and opportunities for improved modeling.

This seminar will be streamed.
