More Moore: Driving Innovation in our Industry for the next Decade

Microelectronics Colloquium Series

Abstract: Over the past decades, the semiconductor industry has driven innovation after innovation as stewards of Moore’s Law. As we move forward, the challenges are even greater as we try to solve for exponential growth in compute and data while simultaneously addressing key challenges around energy efficiency and sustainability.

In her talk, Dr. Duran will share recent results in three research areas addressing these key challenges. At the device/ transistor level, she will speak to advances in lithography, addressing scaling challenges and proposed patterning solutions, followed by transistor scaling options and potential postCMOS solutions. She will then share how recent innovations in 2.5D and 3D packaging are key to future system optimizations to meet growing industry needs. Through each of these she will touch on the impact of these solutions on sustainability goals.
