Quantum Computers for Quantum Field Theory

HEP Theory Seminar

Abstract: The advent of quantum computing for scientific research presents the possibility of calculating time-dependent observables in quantum field theories such as viscosity and parton distributions. To use this new tool, a number of theoretical and practical issues must be addressed related to efficiently digitizing, initializing, propagating, and evaluating quantum field theory. In this talk, I will discuss a number of projects being undertaken by the NuQS collaboration to realize calculations on NISQ-era and beyond-quantum computers.
