Real-Time, AI-Assisted Flame Stability Analysis of Flame Spray Pyrolysis

AMD Seminar

Abstract: Flame spray pyrolysis is an experimental process used at the Materials Engineering Research Facility to synthesize nanoparticles through combusting mixed fluids. Achieving a stable flame is key in reliably producing quality particles by using this method. In this study, the flame spray’s stability is analyzed by using elements of artificial intelligence such as computer vision and machine learning. Automatic detection of unstable flame conditions contributes to increasing the efficiency of the process and to creating a safer working environment.
