Abstract: The presentation will be an introduction to the Sikh religion and culture. Who are the Sikhs? Why do the men wear a turban? What are the key beliefs and cultural aspects of this religion, which originated five centuries ago in South Asia and is now the fifth largest faith in the world?

Bio: Raj Mago was born and raised in India and is now a U.S. citizen. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from Punjab University, India. He  retired as an Engineering Senior Manager after 42 years with Navistar. He is now a community outreach and media coordinator for the Sikh Religious Society. He is also a Trustee Emeritus for the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions, co-founder and member of the Board of Governors of the Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago, and executive secretary for the Asian American Coalition of Chicago.

Details: The event is open to all current and retired employees and to members of the public. 

A plated lunch will be available immediately following the presentation. The menu choices include pasta, salads, and various sandwiches for $14/person including beverage, service charge and sales tax.
