The cement industry is known to be difficult to decarbonize, said Rick Bohan, senior vice president of sustainability for the Portland Cement Association (PCA). During his seminar, Bohan presented PCA’s Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality, including actions to be taken at the cement plant (alternative fuels, improved efficiency), during construction (increased use of recycling, alternative fuels) and every day (incentivizing energy efficient buildings, provide less maintenance).
