The Mathematics and Computer Science Division will hold a full-day tutorial on ​“Parallel Programming with MPI” at Argonne’s Theory and Computing Sciences Center on June 5. MPI is widely recognized as the de facto standard for parallel programming.

The morning session will provide an introduction to MPI. The objective is to familiarize the attendees with MPI programming and its associated benefits and to illustrate the use of MPI models in various application domains, such as nuclear physics and computational chemistry.

The afternoon session will comprise an advanced-level tutorial focusing on the powerful techniques available in MPI-2 and MPI-3. This tutorial will be of particular interest to researchers working on the design and development of next-generation high-end systems, middleware, and applications.
