Three MCS researchers receive the 2007 DOE INCITE Awards

Three MCS Division researchers -- Paul Fischer, Bill Gropp, and Rob Jacob -- have received DOE INCITE awards for 2007. Fischer is the principal investigator on a project to conduct large-eddy simulations of the thermal-hydraulics that governs the peak temperature in advanced burner reactors, Gropp is a co-PI on a project to evaluate the performance of leadership-class computers, including porting of performance tools to these systems and validating the effectiveness of performance prediction technologies. Jacob is a Co-PI on a project to conduct the first transient simulation of the past 21,000 years of climate history using a coupled ocean/atmosphere/dynamic vegetation model. Congratulations to all three!
