The CEED co-design center is a focused team effort to develop the next-generation discretization software and algorithms that will enable a wide range of finite element applications to run efficiently on future hardware.

The CEED co-design center is a focused team effort to develop the next-generation discretization software and algorithms that will enable a wide range of finite element applications to run efficiently on future hardware.

Following are our project goals:

  • Help applications leverage future architectures by providing them with state-of-the-art discretizatin algorithms that better exploit the hardware and deliver a significant performance gain over conventional low-order methods.

  • Collaborate with hardware vendors and software technologies projects to utilize and impact the upcoming exascale hardware and its software stack through CEED-developed proxies and miniapps.

  • Provide an efficient and user-friendly unstructured PDE discretization component for the upcoming exascale software ecosystem.

CEED is a research partnership involving 30+ computational scientists from Argonne and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories and five universities, including members of the MCS Division’s Nek5000 and PETSc  projects.

CEED is a partnership with Argoone and LLNL and five universities: RPI, U. Tenn., U. COlorado Boulder, UIUC, and Virginia Tech.
