Biography
Satish Balay has a long track record of development of numerical software libraries. He was on the Argonne team that won an R&D 100 award in 2009 for PETSc; and recently he won a 2018 Pacesetter Award for his extraordinary effort in preparing the PETSc 3.9 release. Moreover, he was a member of the FACETS project for parallel coupling of fusion components and a participant of the FASTMath project to develop scalable numerical research software for functionalities such as mesh management and discretization.
