Hong Zhang was a Givens Associate at Argonne in 2012, during which time he implemented and analyzed extrapolation-based implicit-explicit ordinary differential equation solvers in PETSc. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from Virginia Tech in 2014. He has published approximately a dozen papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings.

Hong joined the MCS Division as a postdoctoral associate. He is currently an assistant computational mathematician.
