Nathan C. Bremer

Manager, Experimental Operations

Biography

Nathan has 22 years of field engineering experience including 10 years at Argonne. He currently works as a research and development engineer and manages the Experimental Operations group.

Nathan played a major role in designing, building, and conducted R&D experiments to improve nuclear reactor safety and economics. His work on Corium Concrete Interactions has resulted in $1 billion in savings for the nuclear industry. He has developed innovative experiment design concepts to obtain newly funded research projects and reported research results in technical articles and sponsor reports, contributing to multiple journal articles exploring novel sodium carbon dioxide reactions. He has experience in clean room work, cryogenic and ultra-high vacuum systems for high-energy physics experiments

He attended Northern Illinois University, where he obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in manufacturing engineering technology. He is a US Navy veteran, where he spent the majority of his time repairing and maintaining nuclear submarines.
