Biography

Adam Szymanski has over 15 years of experience working on a variety of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) projects. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Computer Science and Robotics and received a master’s degree in Analytics at the University of Chicago with an emphasis on advanced computational models including computer vision and machine learning algorithms.

Szymanski’s current work involves advanced logistics modeling for the US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) through the Analysis of Mobility Platforms (AMP) project. He is also the lead Principal Investigator on a program for the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) that focuses on Electronic Warfare (EW) M&S. This project includes both EW system modeling as well as detailed Radio Frequency (RF) propagation modeling in complex environments. (https://​builder​.nrl​.navy​.mil)

Szymanski is also the technical lead on the U.S. Department of Energy’s Avian-Solar project that focuses on developing computer vision and machine learning algorithms for low-cost wide area bird activity detection at solar facilities. (Argonne Feature Story, North American Clean Energy Article)
