Biography

Albert has over 40 years of experience including over 20 years at Argonne National Laboratory where he has developed a large number of accelerator components and vacuum systems. He is currently working as a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Experimental Operations and Facilities division.

He supported the original storage ring at Argonne’s Advanced Photon Source, which was successfully built by design; the Continuous Wave Radio Frequency Quadrupole for ATLAS at CERN; the Electron Beam Ion Source; and Argonne’s In-Flight Radioactive Ion Separator (RAISOR).

Albert is an expert in ion beam manipulation, mechanical design, and vacuum chambers.
