Anthony Holub is an Outreach Instructor for Educational Programs, and he develops and facilitates STEM outreach activities for students to foster an understanding of current and future STEM research and career opportunities. His outreach activities particularly focus on helping students who are traditionally underrepresented in STEM fields. He also provides technical support for 3D printing and CAD modeling. Anthony’s goal is to provide awareness of scientific endeavors at Argonne to all communities that have potential interest in STEM, and build scientific literacy for our future generations.

Having always held a passion for math and science, Anthony graduated from North Central College with a B.A. in Math and Physics, as well as a minor in Secondary Education. He then pursued a Master’s in Educational Administration from Governors State University, where he graduated in 2005. To expand his knowledge in both scientific and educational fields, he also took post-secondary classes from Aurora University and the University of Laverne. In addition to his current position at Argonne, Anthony works full-time as a high school teacher in science and engineering for School District 308 in Oswego.

Since 2013, Anthony has been involved with Project Lead the Way (PLTW), a national engineering curriculum and advocacy group. Through the PLTW, he has trained at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Milwaukee School of Engineering to teach advanced engineering coursework for high school students. In addition, he has mentored several teachers in his school district. Anthony volunteers with the homeless and jail ministry, and he plays the guitar for his local church.
