Research Interests

I study properties of unstable nuclei located far from the line of beta stability. ATLAS with its high-quality intense beams of heavy ions is an ideal tool for producing nuclei with excess of protons. Listed below are recent experimental examples related to:

  • the doubly-magic 100Sn nucleus [2,6,10],
  • nuclei spontaneously emitting protons [1, 7],
  • levels above the proton threshold in light proton-rich nuclei, which are situated along the path of the astrophysical rapid proton-capture process [5,8,9],
  • very heavy transfermium nuclei [3,4,11].

I run most of my experiments with the Fragment Mass  Analyzer (FMA) or the Argonne Gas-Filled Analyzer (AGFA) stand-alone an coupled to the gamma-ray arrays Gammasphere or GRETINA.
