Chemical Engineer

Biography

Dr. David Bettinardi is a member of the Radiochemistry group in the Chemical and Fuel Cycle Technologies Division at Argonne National Laboratory. His research has focused on the design and optimization of chemical separations strategies in radioisotope production (NNSA Mo-99 Program) and nuclear fuel cycles R&D. He has worked on projects related to chemical speciation and thermodynamics, target dissolution and recycling, radiochemical processing, chemical flowsheet design, and radioisotope generator development. He is also active in additive manufacturing (3D-printing) using chemically-resistant materials.

David joined Argonne as a Graduate Researcher in 2017. He completed his PhD in Nuclear Science & Engineering from Oregon State University from 2016-2020 where he served as Fellow of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He became a Postdoctoral Appointee in 2020 and was converted to staff in 2022.
