Elia Merzari

Biography

Elia Merzari received his Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. After a postdoctoral fellowship at the insitute and at Argonne, he joined the laboratory as a principal nuclear engineer. He holds a joint appointment with the MCS and NE divisions.

Merzariā€™s technical accomplishments include internationally recognized work on demonstrating the applicability of advanced computational fluid dynamics methods to the analysis of a variety of advanced reactor fuel assembly designs, and 14 published articles in referenced journals thus far in his early career.

Merzari won the 2012 Young Members Excellence Award, in recognition of his technical accomplishments, volunteer contributions to the American Nuclear Society, and dedication to expanding opportunities for young member involvement.
