Guosheng Ye

Principal Mechanical Engineer

Biography

Guosheng has over 15 years’ experience performing engineering analysis with expertise in the analysis and assessment of high temperature structures and materials. He is a mechanical engineer in the Experimental Operations and Facilities division.

Guosheng is an expert in FEA/CFD; metallurgy, ceramics, and material processing; material characterization; thermodynamics; mechanics; and heat transfer. His skills include experience with the creep/fatigue life assessment of high-temperature pressure parts, limit load analysis, fitness for service calculations for various components (fracture mechanics calculations) and software tool development, piping stress analysis, and CFD calculations for fossil power components. This experience has translated into support of code development for American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III Div. 5, code development for nuclear reactors.

Guosheng received a Ph.D. in manufacturing engineering from Boston University; a Master of Science degree in metallurgy from the Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials; and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Tsinghua University. He is an expert in FEA/CFD; metallurgy, ceramics, and material processing; material characterization; thermodynamics; mechanics; and heat transfer.
