Hannes Bernien is an Assistant Professor at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago as well as a Joint Appointee in the Materials Science division at Argonne National Laboratory.

Bernien is also co-Principal Investigator for the National Science Foundation’s Quantum Leap Challenge Institutes center for Hybrid Quantum Architectures and networks.

His research focuses on quantum computing and simulation, quantum networks, and atomic qubit systems.
