Hengdi Zhao

Postdoctoral Appointee

exploratory synthesis of quantum materials in the single-crystal form

Biography

Hengdi Zhao is a postdoctoral appointee in the Emerging Materials Group. He received Ph.D. in Physical from the University of Colorado at Boulder and B.S. in Physics from the University of Kentucky.

His research interest focuses on the exploratory synthesis and characterization of novel quantum materials in the single crystal form, such as materials with 4d/5d transition metal elements. He is also a group member of Neutron and X-ray Scattering and he studies the structure and dynamics of strongly correlated systems with both x-ray and neutron diffraction and diffuse scattering.
