Biography

Jim has over 50 years of experience including 40 years at Argonne with expertise in thermal hydraulics systems design and analysis. He is currently a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Experimental Operations and Facilities division.

Jim has acted as the lead engineer for mechanical design and analysis of many projects. Jim supported the design and analysis of: uranium targets and associated components at the Intense Pulsed Neutron Source, electro-refiners and associated components in fuel recycle projects; target station components at SNS, (Oak Ridge National Laboratory), beamline components at LCLS, (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center), telescope components for DES (Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory), and beam line targets and associated components for various Mo-99 projects (Argonne).

Jim has a Ph.D. in mechanical and aerospace engineering and a Master of Science degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago; a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and a professional license in Illinois.
