Biography

Jeff has 30 years of mechanical engineering experience including six years at Argonne National Laboratory, where he is currently working as a mechanical engineer in the Experimental Operations and Facilities division.

Jeff is skilled in a wide range of mechanical system design providing considerable versatility.  Jeff has engineered detector components, pressure vessels, piping systems, and experimental systems and components and has considerable experience with the design and control of mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatic motion systems. Jeff has developed designs for the Single Piston Rapid Compression Machine for transportation, the cryostat for the pSCT Telescope, South Pole Telescope, Shielded Cell for radiation environments, and Cosmic Ray Veto and Field Mappers for Mu2e, among others.

He attended Iowa State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering.
