Biography

Jenn is a certified strategic planner and communications and public relations professional with more than 12 years of experience working for leading organizations. She is a senior-level strategist who upholds nationally recognized best practices in engagement, strategic planning, communications, media relations and crisis management. 

In her position as Communications Manager for The Office of Community Engagement, she supports and deploys effective communications practices to further inform and engage internal and external stakeholders. 

Prior to joining Argonne National Laboratory, Jenn worked as Director of Strategy and Communications for several different school districts across the Chicagoland area. Increasingly, she saw how critical engagement with internal and external stakeholders is to the communications function, and it became a major focus and priority for her. She feels fortunate to build upon her passion for communications and engagement while working with such a talented group of people. 

Jenn also spent several years working as a journalist, working as a general assignment reporter with a particular focus on education and government relations for The Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times. 

Throughout her career, she has been fortunate to collaborate with many talented people who contributed toward receiving the following awards:

  • Named Top 35” school public relations professional in the country by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA)
  • NSPRA Honorable Mention for video production work 
  • Recipient of two Northern Illinois Press Association Awards (one for investigative journalism on housing crisis in wealthy suburbs and the other for breaking news due to a train derailment)
