Atmospheric Instrument Specialist

Biography

As an Atmospheric Instrument Specialist in the Environmental Science Division, Jenni works primarily for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) program. She is the lead instrument mentor for the ARM surface meteorology and soil moisture systems, and associate mentor for the balloon-borne sounding systems. Jenni has experience working with multiple instrument technologies, designing and supporting systems, programming, data acquisition and quality analysis, field work, and writing technical documentation. A career highlight was providing the logic design and programming for a dynamic tipping bucket rain gauge calibration system that ARM currently uses. She frequently interfaces with ARM data users to answer technical questions and assist their scientific studies. Jenni is a member of the ARM Standards Committee and both the National and International Soil Moisture Network (NSMN / ISMN) communities.
