Joseph Braun is a nuclear engineer with over 40 years of experience in the design, operation and safety of U.S. nuclear power plants. He teaches nuclear technology at Argonne training courses conducted for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Braun is currently working on the development of technical specifications for Generation 3+ reactors such as the advanced boiling water reactor and the AP-1000 (a two-loop pressurized water reactor sold by Westinghouse Electric Company) for the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He is also developing risk-based decision-making tools for the nuclear and petroleum industries.
