Biography
Joseph E. Harmon has been a science writer, editor, and manager for four decades at various divisions within Argonne National Laboratory. Some highlights on awards, publications, and presentations:

- Presented talks on scientific communication at various venues, including the JumpStart Forum at Argonne, the University of Windsor Workshop on Visualizing Connections in Science and the Humanities, ComSciCon: The Communicating Science Workshop for Grad Students, and Remy Bumppo Theater Company’s pre-show lecture for “Galileo.”
- Received four Argonne Pacesetter Awards.
- Received numerous awards from the Annual Competition of the Chicago Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication, including two awards for “Best of Show.”
- Received 2008 Award for Best Book in Technical or Scientific Communication from the National Council of Teachers of English for The Craft of Scientific Communication (with Alan Gross).
