Biography

Kenley Pelzer specializes in machine learning and computational chemistry in her work in the Computational Science group of the X-Ray Science Division. She began her work at Argonne in 2014 as an Aneesur Rahman Named Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Nanoscale Materials and the Materials Science Division. After serving in a program development role in the Manufacturing Science and Engineering Initiative, Kenley joined the Advanced Photon Source as a Computational Scientist in 2018. Her work at Argonne has included the development of artificial intelligence methods for x-ray diffraction data processing, analyzing data from high-throughput screening of battery materials, searching for patterns in data for cybersecurity of vehicles, and modeling of organic solar cells. Kenley holds a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago.
