Application of geology/hydrogeology and cone penetrometer (CPT) technology in hazardous waste investigations and remediation; expertise in field geology, Quaternary glaciofluvial and glaciolacustrine stratigraphy, petroleum exploration and development (carbonate reservoirs).

Career Highlights

• Program manager: Environmental site characterization and remediation for U.S. Department of Agriculture; annual budget $4-5 million.
• Designer and developer: Largest, most published phytoremediation project in the Midwest; CPT equipment patents for application in environmental work, with regulatory acceptance.
• Supervisor: Geologic exploration and development of DOE Naval Petroleum and Oil Shale Reserves in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
• Developer/co-developer: Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSSE) post-Macondo ​“Effects of Water Depth Workshop,” 2011; Rocky Mountain Oil Testing Center for petroleum industry; course to assist Native American Councils in management of petroleum resources on tribal lands; summer geologist and petroleum engineering training programs for historic minority universities (for DOE).
