Lynn Tefft Hoff is the head of communications for the Advanced Energy Technologies (AET) directorate at Argonne National Laboratory, overseeing strategic, integrated communications to advance the lab’s goals in applied materials, energy systems infrastructure and analysis, and transportation and power systems. She also oversees the internal communications strategy for AET, helping to advance employee engagement and diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.

After spending the first decade of her career as a journalist covering the criminal justice system for newspapers in Iowa and New Mexico, Hoff has spent the last 20+ years working with teams to leverage a range of communications — from mass to interpersonal, including marketing, community outreach, traditional and social media, and relationship management — to advance goals in higher education, healthcare, and research and development.

Hoff has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Iowa and a master’s in communication management from the University of Southern California.
