Lynn Trahey

Biography

Lynn Trahey is a materials scientist in the Joint Center for Energy Research where she leads internal and external research integration efforts. A staff scientist at Argonne National Laboratory since 2010, Trahey’s research focused on operando characterization of tailored materials and interfaces for advanced rechargeable batteries. Trahey graduated with a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007, where she studied the fabrication and device application of nanostructured thermoelectric materials under the NASA Graduate Student Research Program. She received the 2012 Northwestern University–Argonne Early Career Investigator Award for Energy Research for her work on artificial solid electrolyte interphases for lithium-ion batteries. Trahey is also passionate about conducting and improving a new paradigm for managing multidisciplinary team science.
