Nathan Schmidt is a Communications and Digital Media Specialist who plans and develops content for Education’s program cycle across multiple channels. He works with Educational Programs and Outreach’s teams to create interlinked plans for the department’s inward and public communications. He also reviews and updates Education’s presence on public and internal webpages. Deeply passionate about learning, Nathan wishes to share Argonne’s exciting story with the world and help youth explore creative and innovative scientific challenges.

Nathan has always been an avid reader and writer, and he graduated with a B.A. in English from Luther College in 2014; he also received an M.A. in History in 2016 from Western Illinois University, where he worked part-time as a Teaching Support Assistant. Having majored in biology in high school, Nathan remains fascinated with nature, and he enjoys hiking in the outdoors and visiting museums in his spare time.

Nathan is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, the Sigma Tau Delta English honor society, the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society, and Boy Scouts of America.
