Biography

Pam Gruszka is the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Argonne National Laboratory’s Human Resource Services Directorate (HRS). The Deputy CHRO helps to lead and align Argonne’s strategy, operations, service delivery, and communications to recruit and retain a world-class community of talent.

Gruszka leads the delivery of all human resources (HR) services, builds highly effective teams, drives significant change-management efforts, and streamlines and improves how people work at Argonne. She delivers impact across all of HRS as the directorate engages with partners across the entire Laboratory.

Since joining Argonne in 2014, Gruszka has served in multiple roles at Argonne, including HR Manager and Talent Management Strategy and Services Senior Manager, where she designed and implemented strategies, processes, and tools to help identify and develop Argonne’s world-class community of talent.

Before she came to the Laboratory, Gruszka was already an accomplished HR leader with over 25 years of experience. She gained insight into HR best practices from her business and leadership roles in a variety of industries including insurance, financial services, higher education, manufacturing, healthcare, and the public sector.

She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing and a Master’s degree in Education, Guidance and Counseling.
