Roberto Lopez is an Outreach Specialist who is advancing the Argonne in Chicago initiative by helping map community and STEM programs and spaces on the South Side of Chicago.

Biography

Roberto Lopez is an Outreach Specialist who is advancing the Argonne in Chicago initiative by helping map community and STEM programs and spaces on the South Side of Chicago. He works with local community partners in Chicago to help Argonne better understand the communities’ dynamics as it relates to their STEM education and workforce development. Roberto wants to give underserved communities access to STEM opportunities and increase awareness between the communities and the Lab.

Roberto has an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Harper College, a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from DePaul University, and a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago in Public Policy. Roberto has focused most of his career on supporting underserved communities and helping them acquire critical resources for education.

In 2021, Harper College honored Roberto with their Outstanding Recent Alumni Award. He is also an alumni board member at the Harris School of Public Policy at UChicago, where he helps improve the school’s diversity and inclusion.
