Biography

Rudyard Sadleir joined Argonne in 2018. As a Business Development Executive, he supports the National Security Programs and the Global Security Sciences Division at Argonne, working with researchers in the management and execution of the contracting process with external research sponsors.

Immediately prior to joining Argonne, Rudyard was with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he worked with senior leaders of private industry implementing strategies in innovation, competitive intelligence, and operational improvement. His range of client experience spans AI, financial, biopharma, med-tech, pharmaceutical, supply chain, marketing, automotive, and industrial goods industries. Previously, he served as a think tank fellow, advising on technology-related policy issues for the Mayor of the City of Chicago.

Rudyard’s scientific career includes a professorship with Saint Xavier University, Research Associate at the Field Museum, and postdoctoral experience at Northwestern University in Developmental Biology. His Ph.D. and M.S. in Evolutionary Biology are from the University of Chicago, focusing on 3D imaging, biometrics and statistical analysis of biology, with publications in leading scientific journals. He also received his M.Sc. in Zoology from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and his B.S. in environmental geology from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
