Biography

Dr. Selin Aslan joined Argonne in 2018 as a postdoctoral appointee in the X-ray Science Division of the Advanced Photon Source (APS). She has been working closely with an interdisciplinary team of applied mathematicians, computer scientists, and physicists to develop new algorithmic and computational capabilities for the next-generation of microscopy instruments at the APS. In particular, she has been working on the extension of the ptychography for three-dimensional object reconstruction in a tomography setting.

At the Argonne Annual Postdoctoral Research and Career Symposium 2018, she won the best poster presentation award for her work on  Joint ptycho-tomography reconstruction through alternating direction method of multipliers”.

She received her Ph.D in mathematics from Virginia Tech in 2018. Her dissertation was on randomization for efficient nonlinear parametric inversion.  A list of her publications can be found in here.
