Steven Bettenhausen is the Regional Operations Manager and Captain with the Radiological Assistance Program, Region 5 for Argonne National Laboratory’s Strategic Security Sciences division. A former Battalion Chief with the Argonne Fire Department, he is responsible for managing radiological responses, situations, and emergencies including response to found radiological sources, shipping accidents, nuclear power plant accidents, and terrorist events involving radiological weapons of mass destruction.
