Biography

Susan Podoba is the Directorate Executive Assistant for the Associate Laboratory Director in Advanced Energy Technologies at Argonne.

She is an accomplished executive administrative support professional with 30 years of experience in the national laboratory complex supporting senior management in programmatic research and laboratory operations. Susan’s demonstrated skills are in event planning, calendar management and scheduling, business writing and communications, customer service, team lead, project management, problem solving, creative solutions, and measurable results, streamlining business process improvements, business relationship management, executing domestic and international travel, expense reporting, conference management, networking, coaching, mentoring, and advocacy for peers.

Previously, she supported the Deputy Laboratory Director, and on occasion, the Laboratory Director, in the Office of the Director.  Early on, she supported various division directors and division management. A highlight in her career was supporting the Office of the Director during President Obama’s visit to Argonne in March 2013.

She served on the Next Generation Workplace External Analysis Team Project as a co-lead for the Culture pillar. Formerly, she served on the EGS DEI Council for three years.

She earned her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Kankakee Community College.
