Vanessa Garcia is a STEM Outreach Intern, and she helps facilitate outreach programs, both within the city of Chicago and at Argonne National Laboratory. She develops and coordinates STEM curriculums, activities, and competitions for outreach. Her goal is to make space and astronomy subjects more accessible to middle and high school students in underrepresented and underserved communities.

Vanessa is currently studying towards a Bachelor’s in Astrophysics as a sophomore at DePaul University, and she has an interest in pursuing research education and outreach. She also works part-time as a teacher, partnering with many schools throughout Chicago.

In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys stargazing and photography.
