Biography

Volodymyr Yefremenko is a member of the Experimental Cosmology Group. His efforts are focused on the investigation of detector materials and technology relevant to cosmic microwave background experiments.  Current projects include the development of superconducting sensors and their components operating at ultra-low temperatures.
Yefremenko started to work at Argonne as a Visiting scientist. He developed a novel concept for infrared imaging based on optical activation of superconducting micro-bolometers, developed fabrication technology of 90GHz polarization sensitive detector array deployed on South Pole Telescope, investigated superconducting and transport properties of thin films and multilayer structures.
Previously, working at the Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of National Academy of Science of Ukraine as an Engineer, Senior Scientist and Group Leader, Yefremenko developed and investigated low temperature detectors and systems for different applications.
