Connected and Automated Vehicle Control, Vehicle and Microscopic Traffic Simulation and Modeling
Biography
Yaozhong Zhang works as a research engineer in the Intelligent Vehicle Control Team, within the Vehicle and Mobility Simulation Group of Argonne National Laboratory.
His research interests include:
- Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs) simulator: Development of RoadRunner, Argonne’s vehicle platooning simulator with high-fidelity powertrain for energy-efficient CAV research.
- Real-world driving data analytics: Data mining and analysis of real-world driving data, including video recognition, map matching, sensor fusion and model validation.
- Sensor modeling and energy-focused vehicle controls: Develop intelligent CAV controls for cooperative driving and eco-driving purposes.
Yaozhong received his B.Sc. in automotive engineering from Wuhan University of Technology in 2017, and received his M.Sc. in automotive engineering from Clemson University in 2019. He was a research assistant in CRA Lab of Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) under leadership of Dr. Yunyi Jia. Yaozhong has been working in the Intelligent Vehicle Control Team since 2019.
