Ecology Survey Summary

As we enter into a new management cycle, the results of the previous cycle will help to guide actions forward. The last 3 management cycles over a period of 9 years were an intensive effort to curtail the dominance of several invasive plant species populations. In that time the ecosystems on the Argonne site responded positively with new native species previously unknown to the site, increases in floristic quality and habitat resilience, and reduced invasive species competition. This 2018-2020 report highlights this success and will be a foundation for the actions proposed in the Natural Resources Management Plan 2021-2024.
