Argonne Shares its Vision for Energy Storage and Fuel Initiatives

Argonne’s Eric Rask (foreground) discusses recent mobility technology hardware and communication evaluations in the Advanced Mobility Technology Laboratory (AMTL) with visitors from the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (DOE-EERE). From left to right, Don Hillebrand (Argonne), Thomas Wallner (Argonne), Daniel Simmons (Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, DOE-EERE), Steven Chalk (Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transportation, DOE-EERE), Jeffrey Binder (Argonne), Eric Rask (Argonne) and Venkat Srinivasan (Argonne).

During the February visit, the DOE-EERE group met with Laboratory Director Paul Kearns, Associate Laboratory Director Jeffrey Binder and numerous researchers to discuss various topics of interest related to energy storage and transportation. In addition to visiting the AMTL, they also toured the Battery Cell Analysis, Modeling & Prototyping facility, the Smart Energy Plaza, the Engine and Fuel Combustion Technology laboratories, and the Materials Engineering Research Facility.
