The 2010 Honda Insight is the second generation Insight. This all-new vehicle changed from a sub-compact 2-passenger vehicle (model years 2000 to 2006) to a 5-passenger, 5 door compact sedan. The Insight remains a dedicated HEV platform; as such the battery and power electronics bay is situated between the rear wheels, not behind the rear seat as in the Civic HEV. Compared to the previous Civic HEV, the batteries have been downsized to a lower voltage. Many features of the vehicle were designed to bring the overall vehicle cost down. As in the Civic HEV the engine is also 1.3 L. The motor is specified as 13 hp.
