The Knights of the University of Central Florida proved victorious in DOE’s CyberForce Competition™, valiantly defending and securing a hydropower energy system against a malicious virtual cyberattack.
Argonne will host DOE’s CyberForce® Competition, which inspires and develops budding energy sector cybersecurity experts. This year, college students will compete to harden and secure a hydropower plant’s systems from cyberattack.
In a first-time virtual contest, Argonne researchers will challenge hundreds of college students to defend simulated energy-sector infrastructure against cyberattacks.
Three researchers in Argonne’s Mathematics and Computer Science Division – Matt Menickelly, Anirudh Subramanyam, and Ashwin Renganathan – have received Laboratory Directed Research & Development (LDRD) Program seed funding awards for 2020.
