The mission of the Advanced Materials for Energy-Water Systems (AMEWS) Center is to revolutionize our understanding of aqueous solutes in confined and electrified environments at interfaces, by integrating new experimental, theoretical, and modeling capabilities.

To achieve this mission, AMEWS employs a balanced and comprehensive program of basic research, divided into two Research Thrust Areas:

Thrust 1: Interface Control for Separations
Thrust 2: Interface Control for Electrocatalytic Reactivity
